Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026. Your privacy matters to us — here's exactly how we handle your data.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored securely, never in plain text). As you use the Platform, we also collect study activity — such as topics viewed, questions attempted, scores, and time spent — to power your progress tracking.

If you subscribe to Premium, our payment provider (Paystack or Flutterwave) processes your payment details directly — Acadcy does not store your card or bank information on our own servers.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and improve the Platform's core features, such as notes, practice questions, and progress tracking
  • Personalize your study experience, such as recommending topics you're weak in
  • Communicate with you about your account, updates, or support requests
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the Platform

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We only share data with:

  • Payment processors (Paystack, Flutterwave), solely to process Premium subscription payments
  • Service providers who help us operate the Platform (e.g. cloud hosting), under confidentiality obligations
  • Law enforcement or regulators, only where required by law

4. Payment Information

All payment processing for Premium subscriptions is handled by our licensed payment partners. Acadcy retains only a transaction reference and subscription status — never your full card number, CVV, or bank credentials.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted password storage and secure connections (HTTPS) across the Platform. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

Acadcy is used by secondary school students, some of whom may be minors. We collect only the information necessary to provide the study and exam-prep service (name, email, study activity) and do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data from children beyond what is required for account functionality. Parents or guardians with concerns about a minor's account may contact us using the details below.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect some features.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the Platform prior to the change taking effect.
